Who do we help?

Are you or someone you know experiencing domestic abuse? At Emaan Refuge, we understand the pain and fear that comes with living in an abusive relationship. It can feel overwhelming and isolating, but there is hope and there is help.

Our team at Emaan Refuge is dedicated to providing a range of services and support to women and their children who are affected by domestic abuse. We offer counseling to help our clients cope with the effects of abuse, legal assistance to navigate restraining orders and other legal issues, education and employment training to help our clients become financially independent, and support groups to connect with other survivors and build a sense of community and support.

All of our services are provided in a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment, and are designed to help our clients find safety, support, and empowerment as they work to overcome domestic abuse. Name Changes

We can assist you to change your marital name back to your maiden name

Career Advice

We can help you recognise what you enjoy doing and steer you in the right direction to jobs that would be suitable for you and what your next steps should be to secure a role in your identified chosen career.

Community Service

We can assist you to find voluntary work in the communicationand  that is both fun, informative and will help you build your CV.

Opening Bank Account

We can assist to open a basic bank account and or savings account.  You will need to go to the bank to get your ID verified

Benefit Applications

We can support you with Universal Credit claims, child benefit claims, personal independence payments, housing benefits and disability benefits.

New Passports

We can help to apply for your British child’s first passport.

Divorce applications

We can assist you with online divorce or refer you to our solicitors if legal advice is required due to dividing marital assets or finances.  We can also assist with Islamic divorce and refer you to relevant agencies.

Legal Provisions

We can support you with legal provisions by referring you to our solicitors for help with children’s contact, divorce, court appearances and victim support.

Immigration Support

We will support you to obtain a DDV concession and then indefinite leave to remain.  We will liaise with solicitors on your behalf and support you to fill out the paperwork.

Counselling Service

you can be referred to an external service.

Educational & Money Management Services

Our experienced support workers will help you manage your money via our in-house workshops and key working sessions.  This will include how to shop and get the best value for your money.

National Insurance

We will make an application for a National Insurance Number to be allocated to you, or apply to get a reminder of it if it has been lost.

Housing Applications

We will support you to make housing applications with your chosen authority.  We will also support ID submissions and the bidding process.
